About the Author
Joe "Spanky" McFarland has been coaching college baseball since 1977. He has coached three teams to the NCAA playoffs, 43 of his pitchers have gone on to play professionally, and seven have pitched int he big leagues. Nationally renowned on the subject of pitching, he was guest speaker at the U.S. Olympic Committee symposium on injuries to the throwing arm in 1983. Joe McFarland is currently head baseball coach at Northern Illinois University and is owner and director of Developing Pitchers and Catchers Camp.
